Rebekah Carlsson

Music/Choir Director

Rebekah Carlsson is a music teacher, conductor, and a pianist from St. Catharines, Ontario. Rebekah’s musical journey started at the age of three, studying classical piano in the Suzuki Style. Rebekah performed, competed and completed exams throughout her childhood. All of which prepared her for a post secondary education in music - Bachelor of Fine Arts, Honours Music Specialization at York University.

While at York, Rebekah had the privilege of studying classical piano with the talented, Raisa Nakhmanovich. She was also a member of York’s Gospel Choir, under the incredible direction of, Karen Burke. The diverse faculty and course offerings at York University, allowed Rebekah to gain valuable music experience in Jazz, World Music, Classical Performance and Music Education.

Since graduating, Rebekah earned her Bachelor of Education and began working with the District School Board of Niagara. She initiated and led a choir at the DSBN Academy for two years before joining Choir Nation.

Rebekah is a passionate educator and believes music provides a unique opportunity for young people to develop new skills, improve their self-confidence, and make meaningful connections with their peers.
